Pulau Jarak the Popular Sail Fish Destination

Pulau Jarak ocated 32 km southwest of Pulau Pangkor off the town of Lumut in Perak. This tiny island rises 50m above sea level and is covered with lush green vegetation and on top of it is a lighthouse. There are no accommodation on the island and as such is lesser known to many but has been a favourite destination to local anglers due to obvious reasons. It is rich with marine life and famous for its pelagic fishers such as barracuda, jacks and king sailfish. In fact it is a common sight to see the king sailfish doing their acrobatic dance on the surface on most evenings.

There is no beach on Pulau Jarak, only granite sloping down to the sandy sea bed with small patches of stony, encrusting and soft corals. The island's boulder-strewn coastline makes it virtually inaccessible, leaving Pulau Jarak's pristine wonders mostly unexplored.

Pulau Jarak or Jarak island is an uninhabited island situated off the coast of the state of Perak Angling charter boats are available for hire from Bagan Dato, Hutan Melintang, Sungei Besar and Lumut.

The angling charter boats are usually made of wood with inboard engines, equipped with gps, sonar, galley, bunks and head. Designed and constructed for longer fishing sessions, it is practically a boathouse with all the amenities of home.

The charters could be for a day's fishing or for a duration of 3 days 2 nights fishing depending on the targeted species.

Pulau Pemanggil the angler's paradise

Teluk Lancang is an isolated bay on the northeastern coast of Pemanggil Island. Coconut trees grow with abundance amidst the tropical vegetation along the coast.
Towering majestically in the heart of Pemanggil Island, is a huge boulder known locally as Batu Buau, regarded as the sacred guardian of the island. On a clear day, this landmark is clearly visible from the south of Tioman Island which is 50 km away.Pemanggil Island is one of the 'must visit' fishing paradise.

Pemanggil, situated next to Tioman, requires a 4 to 5 hour boat ride from Mersing, which is the jump off point from the mainland. Along the journey if you're an avid angler, drop a line and start fishing right away! One will never be disappointed with the catch.
